Scholarships

The National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) is committed to fostering educational opportunities for Michigan National Guard members and their families through various scholarship programs. These scholarships aim to alleviate financial burdens associated with higher education and empower recipients to pursue their academic aspirations.

NGAM offers several scholarship opportunities, each designed to meet different educational needs and stages of life. The Charles D. Anderson Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of a dedicated NGAM leader by supporting undergraduate students pursuing degrees in any field. The MG (Ret) Donald M. Kiefer Scholarship, named after a respected Michigan National Guard officer, assists students pursuing degrees in fields related to national security or military affairs.

For those pursuing advanced degrees, the Colonel John K. Holmes Scholarship provides financial support to graduate students studying business, law, or public administration. Additionally, NGAM offers the General John J. Nowak Scholarship for graduate students focusing on military history or national security studies.

These scholarships are made possible through generous contributions and fundraising efforts, demonstrating NGAM’s commitment to investing in the educational future of its members. By supporting NGAM’s scholarship programs, donors and partners contribute directly to the academic success and professional development of Michigan National Guard members and their families.
